Hey Pretty!
Halloween is this Saturday! OMG where did the month of October go? If you are anything like me, you’ve bought the candy and the ingredients for Monster Mash Brownies, you got the dog his costume, you probably bought the mums and they are on their last leg on your front porch lol! I can also guess what you forgot…ummm hello…you need a costume for the Halloween Party you’ve been invited to.

You put it on the back burner because you weren’t sure if you would actually be able to make it (mentally/physically)… we can still back out. Or maybe you just want to dress up a little to pass out candy to the Trick or Treaters. You still deserve to dress up. And it does not have to be a whole production to count. Just in case the only real thing keeping you from committing is a costume, but ummm HELLO!!! It’s SATURDAY!!!! I’ve got you friend and you have everything you need already!
Here’s the easiest one I ever did. I turned myself into a deer with nothing but the makeup I already had in my bathroom. No sewing, no Spirit Halloween run, no $80 costume you’ll wear exactly once.
What you need:
Your everyday makeup bag, foundation, concealer, contour or bronzer, eyeliner, lashes, and something white for the dots (white concealer or white liner both work). Plus an antler headband and a brown top.
How to do the deer:
Start with your normal base, then go a little heavier on the contour than usual, cheeks, forehead, jawline. That sculpting is what makes the deer face happen. Then the details: a dark line down your nose with a little dark nose tip, white dots across your cheeks and forehead (just dot them on with a small brush, they do not have to be perfect, deer spots aren’t), big lashes, and a soft lip. Pop on the antlers and a brown top, and you are done. That’s the whole costume.
Want to watch me do it step by step? Here’s the tutorial:
And the couples costume, because here’s the honest part:
I lucked out. Kelly will grab a Nerf gun and play hunter all night and love every second of it. Camo hoodie, orange hat, sunglasses, and he just grabbed one of our kids’ old Nerf guns and we rolled on.
But I know not every husband is like that, and that’s okay. That’s exactly why easy matters. If all he has to do is throw on a camo hoodie and an orange hat he already owns, there’s no big ask. No crankiness, no crazy spending, and you still get to have fun together. Low effort for him, still a memory for you.

So tell me, did you forget yourself this year too? And what are you being Saturday? I want to hear all of it in the comments.
Love you, mean it,
Ashley
